What TouchBlogs Is
TouchBlogs is an independent buying guide for smart-home security in Australia. We answer one question, honestly: which security camera, video doorbell or smart lock is actually worth your money?
Every recommendation on this site is priced in Australian dollars, includes the real subscription costs (because a $200 camera with a $10/month plan isn’t really $200), and is written without fear or favour — if a popular product isn’t worth it, we say so.
What We Cover
- Security cameras — indoor, outdoor and wire-free cameras compared on video quality, detection and real AU prices.
- Video doorbells — battery vs wired, with honest subscription-cost math.
- Smart locks — keyless entry compared on security, reliability and install ease.
- Home security guides — complete setups, subscription-cost truth tables and buyer advice.
How We Research
Every guide starts the same way: we check real Australian retail prices (not US imports converted at guess rates), verify the product is actually sold and supported in Australia, dig into the subscription terms most reviewers skip, and compare against at least two competing options. When we can’t verify a claim — battery life, detection range, local storage limits — we say so instead of repeating the marketing.
How We’re Funded
TouchBlogs is reader-supported. Some links on this site are affiliate links — if you buy through one, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. A commission never buys a favourable verdict: we regularly recommend against products we could earn from. Read our full Affiliate Disclosure.
